DexScreener alternatives and similar sites — an honest comparison

DexScreener alternatives compared — DexTools, GeckoTerminal, GMGN, Birdeye, Photon, Axiom, BullX — chains, strengths, pricing, and what none show: who paid.

By DXT Tools Research · updated Aug 23, 2026

The best DexScreener alternatives are DexTools and GeckoTerminal if you want another screener, GMGN and Birdeye if you want wallet and holder analytics, and Photon, Axiom or BullX if you want a trading terminal that executes the trade you found. None of them is a drop-in replacement: DexScreener is still the widest free pair screener, and most traders end up using it plus one or two of the tools below.

This page compares the seven sites people most often search for next to "dexscreener" — what each does better, what it does worse, and how it makes money. It closes with the category DexScreener and every alternative leave empty: a record of who paid for DexScreener's own promotional products (Dex Paid, boosts, ads, CTO), at what market cap, and what happened afterwards. That is what DXT Tools does, and why we describe ourselves as a companion, not a DexScreener alternative.

Why people look for a DexScreener alternative

People search for sites like DexScreener for three reasons, and each reason points to a different kind of tool. The first is execution: DexScreener shows you the pair but does not trade it, so the chart-to-buy path runs through a wallet or a bot. The second is depth: holder breakdowns, wallet labels, "smart money" flows and developer history are thin or absent on DexScreener. The third is trust: Trending is shaped by paid boosts, and the badges on a token page tell you that someone paid, not who or when.

Almost nobody leaves because the screener itself is bad. DexScreener is free, fast, covers more than a hundred chains and needs no account. Keep that in mind while reading: an alternative only wins where it adds something DexScreener does not have.

The seven alternatives at a glance

The table below keeps claims general on purpose — feature sets and chain lists change monthly. Treat it as a map of what kind of tool each one is, then open the site for the current details.

DexScreener alternatives compared (August 2026, qualitative)

DexToolsBroad multi-chain (Ethereum, BNB Chain, Solana, Base and many more)Oldest DEX screener; DEXTscore token score, pair explorer, pool and holder views, its own trending and hot pairsBusier interface; the most useful tiers sit behind holding its DEXT token; slower on brand-new pairs than DexScreenerFree basic tier; higher tiers unlocked by holding DEXT (check the site for current thresholds)EVM-first traders who want a score and a deeper pair page
GeckoTerminalAmong the widest network coverage of any trackerRun by CoinGecko; clean charts and candles, permanent token and pool pages, free public API with generous documentationNo trading, no wallet tracking, little meme-specific tooling; can lag DexScreener on the very newest pairsFree; API on CoinGecko's free and paid plansResearch, historical charts and developers who need a stable API
GMGNSolana-first, plus BNB Chain, Base, Ethereum and a few others"Smart money" and wallet tracking, copy trading, Telegram bot, fast new-pair feed with developer and bundle flagsNot a neutral screener — it is built around its own trading flow; dense interface; fees on every tradeFree to browse; a percentage fee on each trade executed through itWallet-followers and copy-traders on Solana
BirdeyeSolana-centric, with several EVM chainsRich token analytics, holder and trader breakdowns, wallet portfolio view, a data API sold to developersFewer chains than DexScreener; parts of the analytics and API sit behind subscriptionsFree tier; premium subscription and paid API plansSolana analysts who want holder data and a portfolio view
PhotonSolana-first, with a small number of other chainsOne-click buys and sells, very fast quote and confirm, "new pairs / about to graduate / graduated" columns for launchpad tokensA terminal, not a screener — no cross-chain discovery; you pay a fee on every tradePercentage fee per tradeSpeed-focused Solana memecoin traders
AxiomSolana-firstPulse-style new-token columns, wallet tracking, perps and yield features folded into one app, low-latency executionYoung product that changes quickly; Solana-only for most features; fee per tradePercentage fee per trade, with discounts tied to referrals or volumeActive Solana traders who want everything in one terminal
BullXSolana plus several EVM chainsMulti-chain terminal with Telegram-linked login, limit orders, wallet tracking and a pro interface (NEO)Access and login flow is heavier than a plain website; fee per trade; less useful as a pure screenerPercentage fee per tradeTraders who want one terminal across Solana and EVM chains

Two patterns stand out. Screeners (DexTools, GeckoTerminal) are free and neutral but do not trade. Terminals (Photon, Axiom, BullX, and GMGN in practice) are free to look at and earn a cut of every trade, which is why their new-pair feeds are built to get you clicking buy. Birdeye sits between the two, selling analytics and data rather than execution.

DexScreener vs DexTools

DexScreener vs DexTools is the oldest comparison in this category: DexTools launched first and pioneered the pair-explorer format; DexScreener overtook it by being faster, lighter and free of token-gated tiers. DexTools still has things DexScreener does not — the DEXTscore (an automated score for contract, liquidity and community signals), a more detailed pool page, and its own paid promotion products for token teams.

Choose DexTools if you trade mainly on Ethereum or BNB Chain and like having a score next to the chart. Choose DexScreener if you want the widest coverage, the fastest new-pair listing and nothing behind a wallet check. Both sell visibility to token teams, so neither Trending list is a pure reflection of organic interest.

DexScreener vs GeckoTerminal

GeckoTerminal is CoinGecko's DEX tracker and the closest thing to a DexScreener alternative that is also free and neutral. Its advantages are permanence and documentation: every token and pool has a stable page that stays indexed, the candle history is reliable, and the public API is the one most developers reach for when DexScreener's limits or endpoints do not fit. DXT Tools itself uses GeckoTerminal candles to compute the ATH reached after a payment.

Where it falls short is the memecoin workflow: no boosts or paid profiles to read, fewer social links, and a slower feel on the newest pairs. If you only need charts and history, GeckoTerminal is enough. If you need to see what the crowd is looking at right now, DexScreener is still the tab that is open.

DexScreener vs GMGN

GMGN answers a question DexScreener does not try to answer: which wallets are buying this, and are they any good? Its wallet labels, "smart money" feeds and copy-trading flow make it the default tool for traders who follow people rather than charts, and its Telegram bot puts the whole flow inside a chat.

The trade-off is neutrality. GMGN is a venue, and its feed is shaped to move you toward a trade that pays it a fee. Read it for wallet intelligence and use DexScreener (or a screener) for the unbiased view of the pair. For the full picture of marketing spend — which wallets the team paid DexScreener from, at what cap, how often — neither shows it; see the companion tools section.

DexScreener vs Birdeye

Birdeye is the analytics-heavy DexScreener alternative for Solana: holder distribution, top traders per token, wallet portfolios and a data API that many Solana apps build on. DexScreener vs Birdeye is mostly a breadth-versus-depth choice — DexScreener lists more chains and more pairs, Birdeye tells you more about each Solana token once you have found it.

Birdeye's premium and API plans are aimed at analysts and builders rather than casual traders, so for most people the free tier plus DexScreener is the practical combination.

DexScreener vs Photon, Axiom and BullX

Photon, Axiom and BullX are trading terminals, not screeners, so "DexScreener vs Photon" or "BullX vs DexScreener" is really a question about where the buy button lives. All three show new-pair columns tuned to launchpad tokens, wallet tracking and one-click execution, and all three charge a percentage of each trade. They do not replace DexScreener's cross-chain discovery; they replace the wallet step after it.

  • Photon — the longest-running of the three on Solana; prized for raw speed and a simple column layout.
  • Axiom — the newest; folds perps, yield and wallet tracking into the same app and iterates fast.
  • BullX — the multi-chain option, useful if you trade Solana and EVM chains from one screen.

Practical rule: pick one terminal, not three. Fees compound, and the discovery columns across them are fed by the same on-chain data.

How to choose

  1. If you want another free screener, test GeckoTerminal first, then DexTools; both are neutral and need no account.
  2. If you want wallet intelligence, GMGN (Solana) or Birdeye (Solana analytics) adds what DexScreener lacks.
  3. If you want execution speed, choose one terminal — Photon, Axiom or BullX — and keep DexScreener for discovery.
  4. If you want to know who is paying DexScreener, when, at what market cap and with what result, none of the above shows it. That is the companion layer below.

Companion tools — use alongside DexScreener, not instead

DXT Tools is not a DexScreener alternative. It is not a screener, it does not chart pairs, and it is not a trading terminal. It tracks one thing DexScreener sells on its marketplace but never reports: paid activity — every Enhanced Token Info purchase (the "Dex Paid" check-mark), every boost pack, every ad campaign and every CTO (community takeover), across every chain DexScreener lists, as it lands.

For each payment we record what DexScreener's own page omits:

  • Who paid and when — the token, chain, payment kind and exact time, in a live feed that runs in the background while you keep DexScreener open.
  • Paid @ — the market cap at the moment of the payment, so a 500x boost bought at a tiny cap reads differently from one bought at a large one.
  • ATH after — the highest market cap reached after the payment, taken from candle data, plus the current price so you can see whether it held.
  • Flop verdict and "seen before" — whether the payment was followed by a run or a fade, and whether the same team has paid for other tokens before.
  • Alertspayment alerts by kind, pack size and chain, for people who do not want to refresh a feed.
  • Token check — paste any contract into the token check to see its full paid history on DexScreener.

What we are not: we do not list pairs that never paid, we do not show order flow or holders, and we are not the place to execute a trade. The honest stack for most traders is DexScreener for discovery, one of the tools above for depth or execution, and DXT Tools as the layer that tells you what the paid badges actually mean. Start with the paid-activity reading guide if the badges are new to you.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best DexScreener alternative?

It depends on what you are missing. GeckoTerminal and DexTools are the closest free screeners; GMGN and Birdeye add wallet and holder analytics; Photon, Axiom and BullX are trading terminals with a fee per trade. Most traders keep DexScreener and add one of these.

Is DexTools better than DexScreener?

Neither is strictly better. DexTools offers the DEXTscore and deeper pool pages, with its best tiers tied to holding the DEXT token. DexScreener is faster on new pairs, covers more chains and has no token-gated features.

Is GeckoTerminal the same as DexScreener?

No. GeckoTerminal is CoinGecko's free DEX tracker with stable token pages and a well-documented public API. DexScreener is faster for the newest pairs and shows paid badges, boosts and Trending. Both are free and require no account.

Are DexScreener alternatives free?

Screeners like GeckoTerminal and DexTools are free to browse, though DexTools gates higher tiers behind its token. Terminals such as Photon, Axiom, BullX and GMGN are free to look at but charge a percentage on every trade. Birdeye sells premium analytics and API access.

Which DexScreener alternative shows who paid for boosts?

None of them. DexScreener shows a badge on the token page but not who paid, when or at what market cap, and the other sites do not track DexScreener payments at all. DXT Tools records every payment from the public API and shows Paid @, ATH after and alerts.

Is DXT Tools a DexScreener alternative?

No. DXT Tools is an independent companion tool, not a screener or trading terminal. It tracks paid activity on DexScreener — Dex Paid profiles, boosts, ads and CTOs — and what happened to those tokens afterwards. It is not affiliated with DexScreener.

Can I use GMGN or Photon instead of DexScreener?

You can trade from them, but they are terminals built around execution on Solana, not neutral cross-chain screeners. Their feeds are designed to lead to a trade that earns them a fee, so most traders keep DexScreener for discovery and use a terminal for the buy.
